Bon Jovi to try to buy part of Falcons

Singer Jon Bon Jovi is in negotiations to buy 15 percent of the Atlanta Falcons from owner Arthur Blank.

The deal would bring in about $150 million, but Blank has downplayed the possibility and called it unlikely to happen.

Bon Jovi’s love of football is no secret, and he was the owner of the Philadelphia Soul of the Arena League for five years.

Blank is attemping to get some cash together to help the team’s financial situation and possibly build a new stadium. ( Read More…)

Atlanta Falcons head coach Mike Smith has a received a three-year contract extension with a hefty pain increase.

The Falcons couldn’t be more happy with their head coach despite this year’s disappointing playoff performance.

He has guided Atlanta to the playoffs in two of his first three seasons as the head coach and helped the city forget about Michael Vick.

Smith had just one year remaining on his initial four-year deal, so the team wanted to give him a vote of confidence. ( Read More…)
